A type of
glomerulonephritis
that is characterized by the accumulation of immune deposits (
COMPLEMENT MEMBRANE ATTACK COMPLEX
) on the outer aspect of the
GLOMERULAR BASEMENT MEMBRANE
. It progresses from subepithelial dense deposits, to
basement membrane
reaction and eventual thickening of the
basement membrane.
